About

Hey, there! You’ve reached my amazing blog, Soju Sonsangnim (which literally means “Soju Teacher”). I don’t really drink soju anymore, but I still believe that I know more about being a public school teacher in South Korea than almost any other person on the face of the earth. I’m that awesome. You should read my blog every day. You will learn…things.

In case you care about me, I hold an MA in Rhetoric, Composition, and Professional Writing, which I received in 2006 from Northern Arizona University. Since graduating, I’ve worked in a variety of fields, including copy writing and education. I have a wife, Kathleen, who teaches with me in Yecheon (though she’s at another middle school). For some insane reason, I’ve been living here for a year and a half, and will continue to do so for at least another 18 months. No, I’m not insane, just eager to save money.

I’m more than happy to respond to questions about teaching in South Korea. You can reach me by e-mail here. I am also available on the following social networks:

You can also find me on AOL Instant Messenger. My screen name is the same as my e-mail address.
